Shelter Health Services is the only organization in Mecklenburg County that operates a free clinic that specializes in providing healthcare and health education to homeless women and their children. 1/3 of the County's homeless are women and children, and is the fastest growing group. Free healthcare is important to enabling the women to find a job and become self-sufficient. We receive no funding from the United Way, Salvation Army, Medicaid, Medicare, or Mecklenburg County. We need your support.
